Helping Your Child Adjust To Childcare
Going to preschool
or daycare is the first step toward his social and intellectual growth. It is
a mixed feeling when your child goes out to interact with the outer world. It
is a huge emotional adjustment for you and your little one. Here are 7 tips to
help your kid adjust to daycare.
1. Be Calm & Loving
Do not rush to send your child to daycare
rather be calm and loving. When you reach the daycare, sit there for at least
10 minutes, make him a little bit comfortable, and bid him goodbye.
2. Allow Him To Carry His Favorite Toy
Give him his favorite toy, and he will not feel
like alone at daycare. He will wait for you in the evening with his companion.
3. Involve The Teacher
You can team up with a daycare trainer or
teacher to help your child to adjust. You can talk about your child's behavior
and his shortcomings so that your child adjust to daycare soon.
4. Avail Family Photos
Ask his teacher if she can carry a small
family album with her. It can calm down your child whenever he feels anxious.
5. Set A Family Quality Time Daily
You can make a family rule that every member
of the family will participate in one activity daily because your kid lives
away from you for the entire day. He may miss his family badly. He will be
happy at both the place's home and daycare.
You may find yourself in a quandary about
sending your little one to daycare. First, prepare yourself because your child
may sense that you are not happy about leaving him in daycare. He may feel like
preschools are not a good place for him.
