Reading can be a challenging thing for kids that can be seen from kindergarten to high school level. It has found many times that a Child reads way below to the expectations.

They are capable of reading efficiently and fluently provided, they get support. They will be supported if we are capable of finding the root cause of the problem. The kids belong to the same age cannot be the same as far as reading is a concern. Some kids take longer than usual.
Need to be instructed well
At times you wonder how their teacher teach them to read. They just need to be instructed well. The all-student cannot be at the same level. Therefore, the class need to instructed according to the the weakest child as far as reading is concerned.

It doesn't matter what is hampering your child to read. There are always way out to a solution. Consult with your child regularly to find out the difficulty. If necessary take pediatrician's help perhaps the scientific approach can work in favour of your child.
Reading skills can be polished at home.
If you find that your child is too shy to read out loud whisper reading can be a helpful tactic to get the desired speed while reading.

Appreciate Your Child Efforts
You need to encourage your child. Applauding your child effort can be a good source of motivation for them. The other extra-curricular activities also help to build up the much-needed confidence especially in public reading.
